From Shops

With the popularity of Russian Dolls growing you will start to find more and more Gift Shops stocking Russian Dolls. When we originally started to collect Russian Dolls ourselves, we only knew of a few shops across the country, now there are many, especially in tourist areas or places of special interest.

Shows and Events

We are not the only one's selling Russian Dolls at Shows across the country. As we have been specialising in Russian Dolls now for the past 7 years, we now have many competitors. Take a look as generally they will have different Russian Dolls from ours, so if you are collecting always look out for something different.

On the Internet

like ourselves you will come across many internet sites selling Russian Dolls. Prices for Dolls will vary greatly as much as there are as many styles of Dolls to buy.
Most Sites tend to be USA based, however there are a lot of Russian web sites where you can buy Dolls at inflated prices.
Alternately, have a look on the many Auction web sites such as Amazon or E-bay, where you may come across other collectors selling their dolls, you may even win a Russian Doll with your bid!

Antique & Collectors Fairs

You may come across the occassional dealers that may have a few "old" Russian Dolls. Generally these can be either over priced, or very under priced. As a Collector, if you see it, and you like it you must buy it, as from past expereice you will never see anything like it again!

Car Boot Sales

You will occassionally come across the odd Russian Doll at a Car Boot Sale, and usually priced from a few pence upwards. We have one collector who has been able to collect a lot of very early Russian Dolls this way, Good Luck with your hunting!

From Russia

If you are on holiday in Russia, expect to see many different sellers of Russian Dolls, in many cases you will be pestered until you buy one. All street sellers will have general available Dolls at Tourist rates. If you look in the specialist shops that have Russian Dolls you will find many fine examples of 'Author' Matryoshka.
As sellers in Russia appricate "American" Tourists, expect to find Doll being sold in US Dollars, also be preparded for some very HIGH prices.
Russia isn't as cheap as it was in the Soviet days, those days are long gone now forever. Be prepared to haggle with the seller, and don't forget you are on holiday, so enjoy it!
